Funding General Projects in the Community

Cardboard Sled Racing on Kiwanis Hill is an event held in conjunction with Coldwater Winterfest at Heritage Park. It is free to adults and children with all ages invited to a free community event.

Tibbits Young Audiences Program represents the Club’s support for youth participation in the arts through performances at Tibbits Opera House. By putting on a show, they learn teamwork, discipline, theatre skills, self-confidence and an appreciation for the arts.

Habitat for Humanity provides resources to the community by accepting donated goods and in turn making them available to others to repurpose the merchandise. That money and donations from the community enable them to construct affordable housing to assist eligible residents the opportunity to have their own home.(Effective 2022 Coach Eby Home Center)

Color Run is a United Way fundraising event where community groups man “color stations” within a prescribed route and splash runners with colored cornstarch. It is a fun way to bring the community together for greater awareness of the local needs. The club sponsors one of the stations and it is staffed by club members.

Strawberryfest is a spring-time event held in downtown Coldwater hosted by the City. It highlights local farms and their fresh strawberries as well as bringing out vendors with local craft items. The club hosts a booth where books are distributed free to children or all ages. This program supports the club’s focus on literacy.

Applefest is a fall event held in downtown Coldwater hosted by the City of Coldwater. It highlights local farms and their fresh apples and other produce as well as bringing out vendors with local craft items. The club distributes free books for children of all ages who are attending the event. This program supports the club’s focus on literacy.

Memorial Day Flowers are funded by the club for placement at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Military Memorial Committee is a group that is leading the refurbishment and improvement of historical artifacts that are in the Four Corners Park as well as other areas throughout the city of Coldwater. The committee is working under the auspices of the City and receives and deposits funds from the community and others in the Branch County Community Foundation.

Children’s Museum of Branch County (CMBC) is a children’s hands-on museum with a mission to develop and operate an innovative and collaborative discovery facility to serve the Coldwater and tri-state region. Community support represents a significant part of their funding.
